Radiometer’s next-generation blood gas analyser has received the prestigious red dot award: product design 2011 in the category life science and medicine.
“We’re delighted to receive yet another design award for our new analyser,” says Radiometer Vice President of R&D, Henrik Schimmell.
“Our primary aim with the ABL90 FLEX analyser was to create a product that would enable caregivers to spend less time on testing and more on patient care. User-driven design and functionality played a pivotal role in making that commitment a reality for our customers, and we are truly happy that these efforts are recognised by international experts.”
For decades, the red dot design award has been established as one of the largest and most re-nowned international product competitions. Each year, an international jury reviews and evaluates the submitted products according to criteria such as innovation, functionality and quality.
In 2010, 1,700 companies representing 60 countries submitted a total of 4,433 products for the ‘product design 2011’ competition. Radiometer has previously received the internationally acclaimed red dot design award for its tinyTeddy sensor for monitoring the oxygen uptake and circulatory status on pre-term babies.
